Question 1

How does SCORE XR blend virtual objects with real-world lighting?

Accepted Answer

SCORE XR blends virtual objects seamlessly with the real world's ambient lighting by utilizing the WebXR Light Estimation API to analyze camera feeds and estimate physical light conditions in real time, allowing virtual elements to receive shadows and reflections matching the physical room.

Question 2

What API does SCORE XR use for light estimation?

Accepted Answer

SCORE XR utilizes the WebXR Light Estimation API to analyze camera feeds and estimate physical light conditions in real time.

Question 3

How are reflection textures updated in SCORE XR?

Accepted Answer

Live XRLightProbe Cubemaps retrieve physical environment maps dynamically from the camera's visual SLAM system via WebXR, refreshing reflection textures in real time as the camera moves.

Question 4

How does SCORE XR match the virtual sun to the physical room?

Accepted Answer

Dynamic Primary Light Extraction in SCORE XR extracts the dominant light source's direction and intensity from the room feed, matching the virtual sun to the physical room's primary lamp or window position.

Question 5

How does SCORE XR ensure virtual assets blend naturally with different lighting conditions?

Accepted Answer

Interactive Color Harmonization in SCORE XR adjusts the ambient light color and intensity vectors on the fly, ensuring virtual assets blend naturally with warm indoor lamps or cold overcast skies.

Question 6

What is the benefit of embedding environmental light probes directly into the shader loop?

Accepted Answer

Embedding environmental light probes directly into the shader loop guarantees that virtual elements reflect changes in real-world colors and intensity instantly.

Question 7

What does real-time physical illumination analysis achieve in SCORE XR?

Accepted Answer

Real-time physical illumination analysis resolves the boundary between actual and virtual spaces.

Question 8

What is the primary goal of SCORE XR's augmented reality cohesion?

Accepted Answer

The primary goal of SCORE XR's augmented reality cohesion is to blend virtual objects seamlessly with the real world's ambient lighting.

Question 9

How does SCORE XR handle dynamic changes in the physical environment's lighting?

Accepted Answer

SCORE XR handles dynamic changes in the physical environment's lighting by continuously analyzing camera feeds to estimate light conditions in real time and embedding environmental light probes into the shader loop for instant reflection of color and intensity changes.
